CHURCH NEWS & ANNOUNCEMENTS
NEXT WEEK’S READINGS . . . Genesis 11:1–9; Acts 2:1–21, 36–41; John 14:23–31.
ABOUT THIS WEEK’S READINGS . . . The Spirit of Truth bears witness to Jesus, who is the truth. But the world does not receive the truth. It loves its own and hates those who are of the truth. Just as Jesus was scorned, so is His Church. “The hour is coming when whoever kills you will think he is offering service to God” (John 16:2). Yet it is by Jesus’ suffering and death that we are saved. Therefore we rejoice to share in His sufferings, that we may also share in His resurrection glory (1 Pet. 4:7–14). Through the ministry of the Spirit of Truth, we are cleansed from the deceit of our idols and given a new heart and a new spirit, the heart and Spirit of Christ (Ezek. 36:22–28). He now works in us fervent, self-giving love for one another, love which covers a multitude of sins, “that in everything God may be glorified through Jesus Christ. To him belong glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen” (1 Pet. 4:11).
THOUGHTS ABOUT STEWARDSHIP . . . 1 Peter 4:10—“As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God’s varied grace.” God’s grace is His undeserved mercy toward us. And what do we have that is not a gift flowing from God’s grace? He means for us to use all these gifts in service toward one another. And chief among the ways we serve one another is to support the Church’s work of bringing more of God’s grace to more of God’s people. And that’s what it means to be a steward!
THE ALTAR FLOWERS . . . are given by The Munsons to the glory of God for blessings received.
VBS . . . theme this year is “The Lord Delivers!” based on Judges 3:12–30, June 8–12, 9:00 am–11:00 am. This summer, children will spend five days in the Book of Judges learning about Ehud—not as a storybook hero, but as an instrument in God’s hand. The real story is this: God’s people sinned, suffered, cried out, and the Lord rescued them. That pattern runs from Judges straight to the cross. Each day focuses on a different movement in that story: from Israel’s rebellion, to their repentance, to God’s deliverance, to the rest He gives His people. The Lord is the hero. That’s what your children will hear all week. Register at: https://immanueltuscola.org/vbs/
SAVE THE DATE . . . August 29, 2026 for this year’s Not Ashamed Conference.
IMMANUEL IS ESTABLISHING AN ORGAN COMMITTEE . . . to determine a replacement for our organ. Our current organ is 61 years old and requires ongoing repairs. If you would like to serve on this committee, please contact Bryce Reifsteck, Chair. Thank you!
ALTAR GUILD, COFFEE COMMITTEE, & FUNERAL CHAIR . . . For May, the Altar Guild is Sarah and Savana Andrésen. Coffee Committee is the Freebairns. May Funeral Chair is Michelle Simpson. For June, the Altar Guild is Krista Freebairn and Savana Andrésen. Coffee Committee is Ann Carroll. June Funeral Chair is Terra Waldrop.

If you are willing to serve in either of these areas—or would like to learn more—please sign up in the narthex or contact the church office. Your service is a blessing to our congregation and to all who gather here in Christ’s name.
CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR GRADUATES . . . We give thanks to God for Cailin Munson, Caiden Russo, and Trey Waldrop as they complete their high school years. We pray God’s continued blessing upon each of them — that He would guard and guide them in the years ahead, keep them steadfast in the faith, and use them in whatever vocation He calls them to. You will be missed on Sunday mornings. Our prayers go with you.
