CHURCH NEWS & ANNOUNCEMENTS

NEXT WEEK’S READINGS . . . Proverbs 8:11–22; Phil 3:17–21; Matthew 22:15–22.

ABOUT THIS WEEK’S READINGS . . . “A great multitude from all tribes and peoples and languages,” cry out “salvation belongs to our God who sits on the throne” (Rev. 7:9–17). Faith-filled saints from every place and time with unified voices eternally magnify the Lamb of God. As His beloved children, we too, “shall see him as he is” (1 John 3:1–3). Joined with the throng of angels and a myriad of saints, we shall “serve him day and night in his temple” (Rev. 7:9–17). In our earthly tension vacillating between saint and sinner, faith and doubt, sacred and profane, we earnestly seek Jesus to calm our fears, comfort our spirits, and forgive our sins. The Holy Spirit, through faith in Christ propels us forward, fortifying us in Word and Sacrament, to our eternal home. In the midst of our constant struggle as believers, we need to be blessed. And so we are. The poor in spirit, the meek, the hungry, the thirsty, the merciful, the pure, and the persecuted are all blessed and we will most certainly inherit the kingdom of heaven (Matt. 5:1–12).

THOUGHTS ABOUT STEWARDSHIP . . . Matthew 5:7 “Blessed are the merciful, for they shall receive mercy.” This is one of many Bible passages that remind us that we reap what we sow. Likewise, what God puts into us (His own love, mercy, kindness, and generosity)—flows back out of us. For it all starts with His self-giving!

THE ALTAR FLOWERS . . . were given by Dave Slaughter to the glory of God in memory of Marta Slaughter on her birthday.

ALTAR GUILD, COFFEE COMMITTEE, & FUNERAL CHAIR . . . For October, the Altar Guild is Celeste Nau and Willa Braaten. Coffee Committee is the Whitsons. October Funeral Chair is Krista Freebairn. For November, the Altar Guild is Sarah and Savana Andrésen. Coffee Committee is the Reifstecks. November Funeral Chair is OPEN.

That’s how a majority of people find churches to visit. Therefore, being visible on Google as one of the top results for searches is important to get found. One way to increase your visibility on Google is through their Rate & Review feature. Please consider rating and review Immanuel on Google by going to: https://g.page/r/CdbSahe0h2B0EAI/review

YOUTH GROUP – ASK THE PASTOR! . . . Ever had a question about God, the Bible, Christianity, or life that you’ve always wanted to ask but never had the chance? Now’s your chance! Nothing is off-limits! Faith, friendships, relationships, tough topics, things that don’t make sense—whatever’s on your mind, let’s talk about it! Join us for “Ask the Pastor!” on Sunday, November 22, 6:00 pm.  How do you submit your questions? Write them down and hand them to Pastor, or send them to him by text or email. Want to stay anonymous? Just write your question on a piece of paper without your name and leave it at the church office for Pastor. Get your questions in at least one week before the event so Pastor has time to prepare! Bring your questions. Bring a friend. Come hungry! We’ll have snacks, great conversation, and a chance to tackle the questions you’ve been wondering about. Your friends don’t have to go to our church to come. Everyone’s welcome!
