Richard C. Zartler, 77, of Tuscola, IL, formerly of Niles, IL, passed away at 11:52 a.m., Friday, October 14, 2016 at his residence.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m., Friday, October 21, 2016 at the Hilligoss Shrader Funeral Home, 705 South Main Street, Tuscola, IL.

Services celebrating Richard’s life will be held at 7:00 p.m. following the visitation at the funeral home with Pastor Jason Braaten officiating. Private family graveside services will be held at the Tuscola Township Cemetery.

Richard was born on September 6, 1939 in Chicago, IL, the son of Karl and Dorothy Steele Zartler. He married Jill J. Vachout on July 18, 1959 in Chicago, IL. She survives.

Also surviving are his daughters: Pamela (Brett) Bacci and their children: Angela Lynn and Anthony Brett, Patricia (Paul) Gagliardi and their children: Joseph Richard and Alexander Paul, sisters: Barbara Vachout and Janice Wolf.

Richard and his wife moved to Tuscola in 1998. He was a retired auto mechanic. Richard was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church, Tuscola, IL.

Memorials are suggested to the Immanuel Lutheran Church or Carle Hospice South Team.
