Immanuel Lutheran Church Launches Sunday School Year with Bible-Based Curriculum

Immanuel Lutheran Church (LCMS) invites children, teens, and adults to grow in God’s Word through its Sunday School program, beginning Sunday, September 7, at 8:00 a.m. in the Education Wing at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 600 E Northline Road, Tuscola.

The program offers classes for Preschool throug 6th grade, while 7th grade and up participate in special teaching from the pastor alongside other young and older adults.

This year’s curriculum focuses on major historical episodes from the Old and New Testaments, with a special emphasis on the time period covering the Conquest of Canaan through the return of the exiles from Babylonian Captivity. Lessons are drawn directly from the Bible each week, creating a firm foundation of biblical literacy for life.

“Even the most dedicated Christian parents benefit from help in teaching the Bible in a systematic way,” said Jason Braaten, pastor at Immanuel. “Sunday School gives children a foundation in God’s Word that complements what’s taught at home. We’re not here to replace parents—we’re here to equip and reinforce. Besides, if we don’t intentionally teach them God’s truth, they’ll absorb the world’s truth by default. Sunday School is a weekly reset—a place where God’s Word shapes their hearts before the world gets its say.”

The cost to attend is free. For more information, call (217) 253-4341 or email immanuel.tuscola@gmail.com.
