Joan was given life by her creator and was born 2 April 1934, the child of Henry and Rosa Heinrich Wright. On 11 September 1935, she received the gift of Holy Baptism and became a child of God. On 16 May 1948, she publicly confessed her faith and was confirmed and received the precious gift of the Lord’s life-giving body and blood. On 5 June 1955, she received the gift of a beloved companion in her spouse, Dean. She was blessed with the gift of four children, Cheryl, Jody, Terry, and Mindy; five grandchildren, four great-granddaughters. God blessed Joan’s life with many special people as she served God in her vocations at home, church, and in the community. Finally, on 3 March 2018, God blessed Joan with a holy death and took her to rest in the arms of Jesus to await the resurrection of the dead.

The Lord gives and the Lord takes away; blessed be the name of the Lord. We give thanks to God our Father through Jesus Christ, our Lord, for our sister, Joan R. Mulligan.

She has now come to her reward, to the place prepared for her and all those who trust in Christ Jesus, to Mount Zion, to the heavenly Jerusalem, the city of the living God, to thousands upon thousands of angels in joyful assembly, to the church of the firstborn, whose names are written in heaven, to God, the judge of all men, to the spirits of righteous men made perfect, to Jesus the mediator of a new covenant, and to the sprinkled blood that speaks a better word than the blood of Abel. For lo Christ says: “I am the Resurrection and the Life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live.” Thanks be to God! He does all things well. May she rest in peace. Amen.
