In Memoriam + Henry Philip Larry Rahn

 

Rahn0001Henry Philip Larry Rahn, 76, of Tuscola, IL, went to meet his Lord at 2:50 a.m., Friday, July 4, 2014 at the Decatur Memorial Hospital, Decatur, Illinois.

Funeral Services will be held at 7:00 PM, Monday, July 7, 2014 at  Immanuel Lutheran Church, 600 East Northline Road, Tuscola, Illinois, with Pastor Jason Braaten officiating. A gathering of family and friends will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 PM Monday at the church. Private family graveside services will be held on Tuesday, July 8, 2014, 11:00 AM, at the Cartwright Cemetery, rural Tuscola, Illinois, followed by a luncheon at the church.

All church meetings scheduled for that Monday evening (7/7) are cancelled.

Henry was born on October 6, 1937 in Tuscola, Illinois, the son of Ivan H. and Ione Cleo Rahn.

He married Shirley E. Mannin in Tuscola, Illinois, on October 9, 1955 at the Immanuel Lutheran Church. She preceded him in death on February 12, 2012.

Henry formerly worked at Panhandle Eastern Pipeline Company in Tuscola, and he farmed in the area for many years. He was a very active member of Immanuel Lutheran Church.

Survivors include a daughter: Teresa Rahn of Newman, Illinois, son: Philip Rahn of Toledo, Ohio, and daughter: Denise Brierley of Toledo, Ohio, 6 grandchildren: Danielle Overberger, Ross Robinson, Hannah Robinson, Ashley Allbritton, Jessica Salvati and Chase Brierley, 6 great-grandchildren: Abigal, Zoey, Logan, Lexie, Alyva and Kyrstin, brothers: Rocky (Jo Anne) Rahn and Gary (Dee) Rahn both of Springfield, Illinois, Gregg (Diane) Rahn of Littleton, Colorado. Special Friend: Jeri Martin.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Henry enjoyed farming, traveling, fishing, antiquing, and drinking coffee with his many buddies.

Memorials are suggested to the Immanuel Lutheran Church.
